There are many myths associated with bisexuals and bisexuality. A lot of it comes from biphobia, the media and its portrayal of bisexuality, or simply ignorance. These myths can come from both the heterosexual and homosexual community, and at times even the bisexual one. Some people who are questioning their sexuality may deny their bisexuality or be put off by being bisexual because of myths such as these. Then there are also people who are put off by bisexuals because of them. This is why it is important to correct myths such as these and put bisexuality into a better light.Read On... Lost Girl isn't one of those shows like Game of Thrones with a huge fanfare and even bigger fanbase. It's a cult show that's crept out of Canada and is gradually increasing in popularity the longer it's on air. The power of its fans was felt when E! Online had its annual "Favourite TV Couple" poll, and Bo and Lauren beat out couples like Kurt and Blaine from Glee, House and Cuddy, Brittany and Santana (also Glee), and many more. It was most definitely the dark horse, but it showed the strength of the show's fanbase.Read On...
Emma Cole is a British woman who, according to her twitter account, is a huge Springsteen Fan and QPR season ticket holder. She has blonde, curly hair, wears glasses and is a frequent blogger. She also happens to be HIV+ and has been since 1991. Touring around the country, with the aim to raise awareness, she teaches students everything they need to know about the condition, and gives personal insight about what it’s like to live with HIV from her experience.Read On...
I first came across Drop Dead Diva by accident; I was channel hopping, my mum came into the room and interrupted me, I left it on, and we ended up watching the show instead of talking about whatever it was she wanted to discuss. Ever since then, I’ve been in love.
Drop Dead Diva isn’t one of those shows that tries to be profound. It’s perfectly comfortable being what it is; a weekly romantic comedy that’s recently been renewed for its fifth season.Read On...
Sex sells. This has been the mantra of advertising since the dawn of the advertising age. And they’ve been right. But there’s a small part of the population who don’t notice it. Or don’t want to notice it. Or aren’t affected by it.
Statistically, one percent of the world’s population is asexual. And while this won’t change the face of advertising, it’s still to be acknowledged as a legitimate orientation. In an age of orientation freedom, you can declare yourself gay. Or bi. Or any number of things, and most people are accepting of it. But that one percent is seen as an anomaly, because they’re not into anything at all.
Why is this? Why can we accept that someone may be pansexual—sexually attracted to all genders—but not asexual—sexually attracted to none? Because sex sells...

In 1950 an enthusiastic eleven-year-old schoolgirl with her head full of music cut her first record in a local record shop in Ealing. Dusty’s first recording was Irving Berlin’s When The Midnight Choo Choo Leaves for Alabam. Dusty O’Brien (it was ten years later that she would arise as Dusty Springfield) was on her way down her own yellow brick road to a world of magic that would bring her iconic fame and fortune.Read On...
In today’s world where heterosexuality is the default and presumed sexual orientation it seems like if you do not fit into that box you need to come out. However coming out can be a traumatic experience as the world can appear to be full of hate, and you never know just how someone is going to react to the news. It would be far easier if we could just live our lives happily, without having to deal with that. What your sexuality is does not change who you are as a person, so it should not matter anyway.

I have seen heterosexuals discuss how they do not go around shouting that they are straight, and having a march down the street about it, so they do not believe that gays should either. But pride marches and celebrations run deeper than just announcing that someone is gay...

On Saturday 7th July, thousands of people flocked to London for a near-universal celebration of sexual diversity. World Pride – the name of the event implies inclusivity and a wide-spread response – was held in Trafalgar Square this year, not counting the parade that filled the streets and stopped traffic. But there was something severely lacking, despite the generally pleasing atmosphere.
Where were the floats? Where were the double-decker buses full of cross-dressers and men in latex gimp suits? Where was the thumping bass, and the great, many-layered dresses adorning men with, frankly, legs that are better than my own? The feathered headdresses and the partial nudity remained (many a Speedo graced the parade, you can be sure), along with dressed-up corgis and women in suspenders an...

First of all, what exactly is ‘virginity’, and why is it so important in our society? Why is it seen as desirable in women and undesirable in men? To be a virgin is to not have had sexual intercourse, but with the ever-changing definition of that phrase alone, how is so much importance still placed on a state of being that leaves someone, in most cases, visibly unchanged?
Let’s deal with the term ‘sexual intercourse’ to begin with. If you’re a virgin, you haven’t had this, and if you’re not then you have. It seems fairly simple, but that’s without fitting such a concept around non-heteronormative relationships...
