Say what you want about things like Fifty Shades of Grey, Twilight, Harry Potter and A Song of Ice and Fire, but they all have something in common. The writers have all achieved something in these series, and that’s that they’ve created very vivid, very real worlds. You not only feel for the characters, but you feel the love that they were written with, and they feel as real to you as the last person you spoke to.Read On... Blog Archives

To someone who doesn’t know what burlesque is, how would you describe it?
Burlesque is one of the oldest forms of theatre. Imagine a opulent, fantasy land featuring dancers, magicians, comedians, fire eaters, puppeteers, and strip tease artist. That’s burlesque! It’s a spectacle.Read On...

Iron Man is one of the characters that has stood the test of time. Played brilliantly by Robert Downey Jr, it’s clear in this film how far his character has come. Since the events of Marvel Avengers Assemble, it’s clear that he’s suffering from PTSD, although he’s reluctant to admit it. He now suffers from panic attacks, and this makes him seem more human than ever. Read On...
Lost Girl isn't one of those shows like Game of Thrones with a huge fanfare and even bigger fanbase. It's a cult show that's crept out of Canada and is gradually increasing in popularity the longer it's on air. The power of its fans was felt when E! Online had its annual "Favourite TV Couple" poll, and Bo and Lauren beat out couples like Kurt and Blaine from Glee, House and Cuddy, Brittany and Santana (also Glee), and many more. It was most definitely the dark horse, but it showed the strength of the show's fanbase.Read On...
Spartacus is Steven S. DeKnight’s retelling of the legend. He has, of course, taken some creative license with it, as is to be expected. I like to experiment in the kitchen. It usually–but admittedly not always–turns out well. This is one of those occasions when it turned out very well. It's perfect for a Sunday dinner, but you can also use it any other time of the week. You don't have to make the two together, of course, but they do work well.Read On...
Whilst it's not fair to put people into boxes or analyse the number of kisses at the end of text messages, that's not to say that there aren't certain things we all do when we fancy someone. Subconscious things that we do, that most of us don't realise that we're doing until it's pointed out to us. Even then, we can't always control them. There are exceptions to the rule - other reasons these things might occur - so don't think that just because someone's pupils are dilated they want to see you naked: several of these cues and they just might, but one isn't enough to say for certain.Read On...
I first came across Drop Dead Diva by accident; I was channel hopping, my mum came into the room and interrupted me, I left it on, and we ended up watching the show instead of talking about whatever it was she wanted to discuss. Ever since then, I’ve been in love.
Drop Dead Diva isn’t one of those shows that tries to be profound. It’s perfectly comfortable being what it is; a weekly romantic comedy that’s recently been renewed for its fifth season.Read On...
